This styled shoot combines all of my favorite things: a simple white dress, golden hour in the Texas country side, a wildflower bouquet, and my dear friend Crystal. Though let's be honest, a "styled shoot" is just an excuse for us to play dress up and chase a little whimsy at sunset. But hey, I'll take whimsy in whatever way it wants to float through my life and make things all glittery and glowy.
Oh, this shoot was a full cup spilling over! Let me set the stage...
It was 7 horses versus 3 humans and golden hour was slipping away.We chased the light through the woods in a tight pack of jitters and excitement. It was a jigsaw of team work at each location: throwing saddles off and on, switching bridles and halters, making ears perk, pulling chunks of grass out of muzzles about to be photographed, and catching the one that trotted away.
Crystal is a new, but very dear friend. We work together at the barn along with Katie, Kaylee, Sam, and Bob. I love my Barn Squad. They've been a bright spot in moving to Navasota. When Crystal asked me to take pictures of her and all her horses, I was so excited. I think I was more excited than she was. So below you'll see a few things:
1. A herd of beautiful horses all trained and cared for by Crystal.
2. A lot of muscle. Good gosh Flo, leave some for all the other horses out there in the world.
3. A model. Crystal, remember the Barn Squad when you're famous.
4. And a dream of mine fulfilled: such a fun shoot!
