Joyful doesn’t even cover it.

It started with Cham and Allie strolling towards me like they had nowhere to be and a million things to be glad about. She had a peach colored La Croix in hand and was wearing a blush dress and the coolest kicks I’d seen in a while. He was already bringing the life of the party and making Allie belly laugh. I quickly took a look around and as I do, honest to goodness I see A BUNNY HOPPING AROUND ON CAMPUS. If I hadn’t already a gut feeling that today was going to be very good and that I loved Allie and Cham (which I did), that was my sign. * Aside – I’m a bunny girl. Head over here if you don’t know what that means. Apart from just loving bunnies, they’re also a big way that God communicates with me. I’ll have to write a blog post about that or something because I’m sounding a little crazy, haha. But I hear and see God in nature a lot, and in bunnies particularly! Okay, aside over. *

It took about 5 seconds for me to realize that Allie and Cham are the kind of people you want with you when you’re going through a tough time. They’re a warm breeze. But they’re also the kind of people you want with you on a vacation or at happy hour on a weekday or on a sunny summer Saturday cruising Lake Austin. Like I said, joyful doesn’t even cover it! Watching them literally play together and just be downright silly was all the better too, because we were on a very prestigious college campus with very smart students in abundance. This irony made it all the more fun though, and I can’t even recall the amount of times they invited passersby to join in on a photo or two. I’m still not sure why no one took them up on it!

And as if their shiny demeanors didn’t perfectly match the newly liberated spring sun (it has been very rainy/cloudy here for months it feels), Allie’s dress would have saved the day because, goodness gracious, I think that dress was made for this day, this girl, and this location. And I already mentioned the kicks, right? Clearly, I could go on and on, but you and I both know the photos will speak louder than I can. Not louder, however, than the perfectly sunny sound of Allie and Cham cutting it up and laughing together that is still ringing in my ears.
