Delightful is the word that comes to mind when I think of describing Nathan and Lora. Together, separate, they are just delightful people!
Delightful Lora told me she'd spoken with the folks over at Millican Reserve and had gotten permission to use The Boathouse for their engagement session.
I arrived a little bit before Delightful Nathan and Lora, and got to enjoy the scenes for a little bit.
But then Delightful Nathan and Lora arrived, and things got even prettier!
Do you see what I mean by delightful? They're just delightful. Delightful Nathan and Lora. They're the kind of people you'd want with you to go strolling through apple orchards in Europe or wine tasting in California. They're the kind of people you want in your book club. The kind of couple who would put the flag up on their mailbox just to stop their postman on a Saturday morning to give him a loaf of homemade bread.
I could have spent forever on that breezy dock, but this location offered more than a lake!
One thing I love about Texas country: white gravel roads.
And you know that if there's a field, I can't pass that up.
Delightful Lora is beginning a new career as a florist. So I thought it prudent that we include some trees in their session, too.
They are just so precious together. I can't wait to spend more time with them in February for their wedding in Brenham!
Ah! I love them. And I love how versatile one field can be. It's like a new beautiful scene in any direction you turn.
And you just gotta grab a few more with that white road.
Delightful Nathan and Lora, time with you is just that: delightful. Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer! I can't wait for your wedding next spring!

GAH I LOVE THESE TWO. We met early one Saturday morning in Austin to take advantage of cool temps at Bull Creek and no crowds at Epoch Coffee. Every engagement session I shoot I find myself so grateful for what I get to do. I love getting to know people, watching them interact, and photographing them in beautiful locations, like the green belt in Austin. I grew up right around the corner from Bull Creek, so it is really cool to visit there now for sessions and rediscover the reasons I fell in love with it in the first place.
I was having fun shooting details before Dana and Thomas arrived, but then they showed up looking like this and I was like okayyyy let's do this.
Just look at their smiles oh my gosh they're the sweetest humans ever. This has to be one of the happiest mornings I've ever had. These two exude love for Jesus. They're the kind of people you could meet and become fast friends with in just one day. They're kind and sincere and, because I can't help myself, suuuuper cute together!
The fun didn't stop after Bull Creek! We hopped over to the new Epoch on Far West and with snapped some fun shots there because Dana and Thomas love coffee. Coffee shops have been a big part of their story so it was really fun to do something new and photograph a couple with all the coffee shop vibes. Plus, the lavender latte afterwards was a big plus.
I'm so excited for Dana and Thomas' wedding in November and Dana's bridals in the fall!
Katie and Tyler LAUGH SO MUCH. That is my favorite. They are the kind of couple that's somehow simultaneously laid back yet also super organized. How is that even real? #Goals for sure. We danced around Town Lake in Austin, enjoying a (pretty) cool evening in June and talking about old times because I've known Katie since we were in high school youth group together. And shout out to Austin - you never fail to provide happy vibes and a really great backdrop.
I love them because they do fun stuff like this:
But also really sweet stuff like this:
The Austin skyline has changed SO MUCH in my lifetime. Austin is my hometown, so it's bittersweet to see so much change to the city. But there's also something warm and nostalgic about being there, even with all of the change. It's still my little home town with lots of trees and parks and lakes and back streets to avoid traffic. I'll always love Austin and it was really special to revisit that feeling with Katie and Tyler.
It had already been a really fun, joy-filled, pretty session, and I was happy. But then this moment happened, and I said a little thank you to my beautiful home town.
Katie and Tyler's wedding in Austin is just TWO WEEKS away and I'm pumpppped! Can't wait to celebrate with y'all and capture more joyful, happy moments!
I am giddy over Ashley and James.
Ugh they're so cute. And this is one of my fav shots. Butttt I love the one below too.
They are fun.
They are kind.
They are happy.
And they love each other.
Their December wedding at Peach Creek Ranch is sure to be beautiful, and their engagements at the venue were a sweet taste of what's to come. I laughed so much with them.
I was already really enjoying their engagement session,
AND THEN WE FOUND A FIELD OF WILDFLOWERS.
I love this one because James is cheesin so dang hard, haha ^
Also there's a firetruck in the field.
Also they brought their pups. :)
Peach Creek Ranch has so many pretty spots!
And shout out to Texas for awesome sunsets and ridiculously pretty country colors.
Also shout out to James and Ashley for being *supa* fun humans.
I'm looking at the photos and writing this post and I literally miss them haha. Can't wait until I get to take Ashley's bridals (MY FAV) in the fall, and then hang with these two again for their wedding in December!
Paige and Ryan are so. cool. Paige loves horses. Ryan loves outside. They love each other. Boom.
They were up for an adventure for their engagement session and drove out to my neck of the woods to find some awesome, secluded spots for their shoot. Their cute smiles kill me. What is it about guys smiling at their girl? Gahhh.
Also, we found a pink tree. A PINK TREE.
This is one of my favorite shots ever ^
Thank you Navasota back roads for your gorgeous country scenes. Could pass on the pot holes though tbh.
They laugh a lot and I really love that.
I reminded them they're getting married and this is what happened ↓
I'm so excited for their wedding in March that will now doubt be even more smiley and happy and fun! YAY.
I don't think I'll ever recover from this couple or this small town Texas engagement session. Honestly, Hannah and Alex are the most amazing people and I feel so blessed to get to be their photographer during their engagement season and wedding! Hannah and Alex, are, first of all, basically out of a book they're so good looking. Second, they're completely down to earth, funny, and love Jesus. Plus they'll soon be a family of three with sweet Katherine, and I'm pretty sure she's out of a book too.
We started in my front yard because I'll never get over what happens when I tell people to stand inside redbud trees. Then we drove down the road to one of the most beautiful, historic houses in Navasota, which just happens to be the offices of Fultz & Fultz here in town. When I went to ask permission to use the house for the session, their sweet receptionist not only greeted me warmly, but also gave me a tour of the house, which was built over 100 years ago! Navasota might not have HEB or Chick Fil A, but we do have crazy pretty historic homes. Then I took Hannah, Alex and Katherine to another of my favorite small town scenes, a sidewalk that is draped with redbuds and nestled between blooming wisteria and spirea bushes. Yeah, this is real life people. But as if the setting weren't magic enough, sweet Katherine flitted around collecting blooms for bouquets... one for her mom, one for herself, one for me - she even put a flower in my hair. This family is, simply put, whimsical. And this was just their engagement session! I truly can't wait for their wedding day in June! Please enjoy all the whimsy and pretty and lovely love in this small town Texas spring engagement session.
This engagement session just outside College Station was SO FUN. First Quinn and Derek just l o v e each other, and second, they're hilarious and goofy and that made for a great time. Also it was FREEZING cold but you'd never know because their photos are so warm and fuzzy and happy. :) And note to self: having couples cuddle under a tiny shawl during a photo session is always a yes.
