I love Hannah and Alex. From the first moment I met them it was easy. They have this collective presence that just makes you feel at home. That's how their wedding day felt, too. The day was unique because their ceremony started at 11 am, which I really loved. It was fun to wake up with the sun and enjoy the morning light hours shooting their pretty, thoughtful wedding details at Cavalry Court.
Hannah hand wrote her vows. What a precious relic to keep forever! I think I'll suggest this to all my couples. Such a sweet idea.
This ring thoughhh oh my goodness. That is a black diamond nestled in between clusters of diamonds on either side. I wanted to use lavender in the detail shots because Hannah and Alex planned a lavender exit!
Hannah's dress is a Blush by Hayley Paige dress from BHLD and it is pretty much perfect.
Jo Malone perfume, lavender in paper bags, and another special detail: Hannah wrapped her beautiful self made bouquet (what?!) in her grandfather's scarf.
Hannah and Alex's day was unique for another sweet reason. Hannah has a daughter, Katherine, and her sister and sister in law's children were there as she was getting ready, too. Watching those little girls see their "Aunt Sunflower" in her wedding dress for the first time was way to precious to handle.
Sweet Katherine seeing her mom in her dress for the first time...
And of course, helping her primp too.
They are the sweetest mother and daughter. Hannah handles everything in life with such grace. As I watched her parent during her engagement and on her wedding day, I was so encouraged by her quiet strength. She makes me not want to take life so seriously and drink in every moment with grace, whether it's utter chaos around me or whether things are free and easy. She also makes me want to wear flower crowns and have a little girl one day so I can hug her like this.
With all the girlies prepping together in Hannah's room at Cavalry Court, it felt like the morning after a sleep over.
This is Hannah's niece, Charlotte, and oh. my. gosh. Her little face!!!
Look at these sweet girls!!! They loved to be around while Hannah was doing final touches on her make up and dabbing on perfume.
They had to get their finishing touches done, too. :)
While Hannah was doing some final touches before the first look, I went to get some shots of her groom.
This tie clip was a gift from Hannah. Isn't that a sweet idea?
Alex chose to wear maroon converse on his wedding day. I really love that.
He also picked out Hannah's wedding band by himself. I think he did a preeeetty good job.
Before the first look I grabbed some portraits of Hannah, too, and ohhhhh my heart. She's so beautiful peeking out at the ceremony spot!!
We did Hannah's bridal session in this gorgeous field outside College Station (blog post coming soon!), so it was fun to get some portraits of her indoors for a little bit of a different look.
Soon it was time for the first look! It couldn't have been more dreamy because right as Alex turned around the wind picked up and blew Hannah's amazing gown like it was a movie.
After the first look, we got some pre-ceremony portraits at different spots around the venue.
Aren't they such an attractive couple?! I love these shots by the pool. Cavalry Court has so many pretty spots and the design is so thoughtful and cohesive everywhere you go.
After some bride and groom shots, we moved on to the always-a-good-time bridal party portraits!
Oh and Katherine was there to make sure everyone was looking sharp. :)
I got to know all of these beautiful bridesmaids quite well. It's really cool to meet the people my bride and groom select to stand with them on their wedding day. It takes a tribe to do life, and Hannah and Alex have a really great one.
Before we knew it, it was time to get Hannah and Alex back into their rooms before guests arrived for the ceremony! Just a few moments left for laughs, final prepping before the ceremony, and prayer.
The outdoor ceremony spot at Cavalry Court is quite lovely. It made for a sweet space for the day to slow down for Alex and Hannah's ceremony. This is always one of my favorite parts of the day. I love hearing vows, watching friends and family laugh and cry in joy, and of course witnessing the whole reason for this day, the marriage!
The absolute coolest thing: the wind picked right as Hannah's brother, Jacob, opened the ceremony in prayer.
Yay they're a family! Time for more pretty portraits!
I stole the bride and groom away for another quick minute to get some just yay-we're-married shots!
There is a Texas flag made of books at The George. I'm sorry, what?!?! Hannah and Alex started to sing the Texas pledge and I was ashamed to discover I didn't know it...
Endless endless endless spots for photos at this venue.
Hannah and Alex used to go on weekly dates to restaurants in Century Square, so she wanted to get a few photos out there. Isn't that special?!
Eek they are so happy! Time to play at the reception.
Cute Katherine was excited to stand next to the Best Man and Matron of Honor during their toasts, and I thought it was just to add in little quips...
But I'm pretty sure she was just waiting for her chance to share a toast herself.
This precious girl talked about how, when she learned Hannah and Alex were getting married, she was afraid of losing her mom. My breath caught when she said that at first... but then she said she realized she wasn't losing her mom, but gaining a Dad. Katherine just turned eight. Eight! Oh my goodness my heart absolutely died listening to her sweet little voice on the microphone, talking about how happy she was for her new family.
This might have been my favorite moment of the day. I'm not sure how I made it through without crying honestly, haha.
After toasts the reception commenced with sweet greetings and a herd of happy, precious children stealing the show on the dance floor.
Ugh my heart. Katherine in the arms of her Dad!!
Soon it was time for Hannah and Alex to head to the honeymoon, and the lavender!!! The whole courtyard smelled like heaven!
But before hopping in the car, a sweet goodbye to precious Katherine.
MARRIED! Congrats Hannah and Alex. Your day was perfect and I was blessed to be a part of it!

Happy doesn't even begin to describe what Amanda and Victor's wedding day felt like. This afternoon in January was just over the top, completely ridiculous, totally unadulterated, fully engaged J O Y ! But the tender hearted affection and whole hearted love was not to be outdone either. Wow, this couple overflows with selfless, passionate love for one another. This was a wedding that had me crying laughing at Amanda and Victor's hilarious friends during bridal party portraits, and then just plain crying during the ceremony. And can you tell I don't even remember the reception?! It just flew by in such dazzling, neon, joy-filled, nonsense FUN that I look at the photos and think, "did that really happen?!" Truth: after the wedding I made a playlist featuring many of the reception songs just so I could remember what that reception felt like. You know it was an amazing wedding when even the photographer gets wrapped up in the love and joy.
Okay but I also have to address how gorgeous it was. This little farmhouse wedding is one I'll never forget. Friends of the groom opened their countryside abode, complete with white farmhouse and big red barn, while more friends and family came together with flowers and cookies and cakes to make this a knock out day. It was such a gift to be part of this wedding, and I'll look back on these photos with joy forever!
Vintage plates. Fall leaves. Whimsical florals. Maroon lips. Delicate gown. Rose gold accents.
This 'fall at the ranch' inspired styled shoot is what dreams are made of. The weather was golden delicious in the Texas hill country and local passersby wished the couple congratulations as they stood in the warm glow of 4 o'clock fall sun. From the sleepy farm table who normally resides on the ranch house porch, to the carefully collected vintage flowered plates, all things simple and shabby chic were wed together in bright, beautiful bliss for this photoshoot in the country. Who wouldn't want to share a secluded afternoon meal beneath friendly oaks on a borrowed, beautiful family of found and foraged treasures? The delicate rose gold rings, necklace and bracelet from Calvin's Jewelry add subtle glimmer, while the winsome, whimsical blooms via Earl Grey Floral anchor the aesthetic to earthy, wholesome fall tones. Audrey Rose Makeup takes our bride's natural beauty to the next level of vibrant, while Blush Bridal Lounge supplies a Tara Keely gown with the perfect amount of lace and lovely flowing lines that don't mind a little dancing when the wind decides to come and fill us all with wonder. Finally, Adeline Designs wrap the entire escapade in perfectly placed curling cursive calligraphy. And what better way to end such a delightful day than by taking a romp through the field on the John Deer at sunset?
